We challenge you to meet the most vulnerable

« That which you do to the least among you, you do it to me».
These words of Jesus permeate all the work of Secours Catholique and of Cité Saint Pierre. Since its foundation in 1955 by Mgr. Rodhain, the Cité has welcomed more than 900,000 pilgrims. They have come to Lourdes seeking signs of hope, close to Mary and to Bernadette. These pilgrims, whose lives have been wrecked by hardship, suffering and loneliness are, first and foremost, our brothers and sisters. Through the welcome that we offer to them in Cité Saint Pierre, we, both permanent and voluntary workers, take the risk of journeying with them and answering the questions they have as they search for meaning in their lives.

The mission of the Cité is, first of all, to offer a high quality welcome to the pilgrims: accommodation and meals in leafy surroundings. It is also to put at their disposal facilities to allow them to express themselves: to describe their lives, to express their talents and to pray and celebrate.
But here, in Lourdes, each one of us is invited to rediscover the heart of the Gospel message : love your neighbour as yourself.
Lourdes is not an end in itself, but a springboard for the construction of a more just and fraternal world. To undertake to work with the most vulnerable and ,with them, to search for signs of hope : that is the challenge that we propose to you, today, in living with us the adventure that is Cité Saint Pierre.
This new website will allow you to discover our mission, our activities, our projects and ,above all, the voices of the pilgrims.
So, here and now, I bid you welcome!

Jean- Claude Lebrun
Director of Cité Saint Pierre
